Education
Dr. Madison completed his B.A. in Psychology at Pomona College. He studied behavior genetics and theoretical psychology at the University of Alberta before receiving his M.A. and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Emory University. Dr. Madison completed his internship in Medical Psychology at the Portland VA Medical Center in Portland, Oregon.
Professional Experience
After moving to Omaha in 1981, Dr. Madison directed the Sarpy County Mental Health Clinic before moving to the University of Nebraska Medical Center's Eating Disorders Program. During his seventeen years with that program, he served in various capacities including Clinic Coordinator, Lead Psychologist, and Administrative Director. Dr Madison also served for one year as the Interim Director of the University Hospital Department of Psychology.
Dr. Madison joined the faculty of Creighton University in October 2000. His clinical interests include behavioral medicine, sport psychology, addictions, eating disorders, and psychological assessment. He is currently involved in research projects in the areas of dementia, eating disorders, and depression.
Dr. Madison is a member of the American Psychological Association (divisions of Clinical Psychology and Exercise & Sport Psychology), the Nebraska Psychological Association, and of the Association for the Advancement of Applied Sport Psychology.
Honors
Dr. Madison received the Nebraska Psychological Association's Outstanding Psychologist Award in 1995. He was President of the Nebraska Psychological Association (1988-1989) and of the Nebraska Society of Professional Psychology 1993 (now the Division of Professional Affairs of NPA). He is currently the American Psychological Association Federal Advocacy Coordinator for the Nebraska Psychological Association.
