Education
Dr. Bhatia received his medical degree from the Medical College at Panjab University in Chandigarh, India and received his psychiatry board certification from the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, also in Chandigarh. He completed psychiatry residency training at the Creighton Unversity School of Medicine.
Professional Experience
Dr. Bhatia is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and has subspeciality certifications in geriatric, addiction and forensic psychiatry. He serves on the medical staff of Alegent Health, Immanuel Medical Center and Saint Joseph Hospital. He has served as Chairman of the Neuropsychiatry Section of the Omaha Midwest Clinical Society, President of the Nebraska Psychiatry Society, and President of the American Association of Physicians from India [Midwest Chapter]. He is a fellow of the American Psychiatric Association and member of the American College of Psychiatrists.
Honors
Dr. Bhatia has been listed multiple times in the Best Doctors of America. He also won the Exemplary Psychiatrist Award from the National Alliance of the Mentally Ill. Dr. Bhatia has received numerous honors during his career, including the Exellence in Teaching and Excellent Residency Training Director awards and Creighton University's Distinguished Continuing Medical Education Faculty.
Publications
Dr. Bhatia serves as a reviewer for research articles for the American Family Physician as well as the Journals of Clinical Psychopharmacology and Psychiatric Services. He has published 27 articles and made numerous presentations of his research at both national and international meetings. For about a decade, he has served as an examiner for the Oral Boards (Part II) of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
